(Spy thriller)
Camera -
- Starts with dialogue, but no clip.
- All shots are handheld close ups on Ethan and Owen to match how he feels, exhausted, hurt, delusional and delirious.
- Match on action of Ethan trying to move arms, but we see he's been handcuffed to the chair.
- Most shots are close ups and medium long shots of the two characters so their location isn't given away much, and also it's important that we focus on the characters because they're the most important things in this scene.
- Shot Reverse Shot between Ethan (left) and Owen (right).
- A reveal over shoulder shot shows that Owen has a hostage behind him.
- As soon as the hostage is revealed the handheld movements stop shaking as much as they were to show that Ethan is focusing on her, rather than having to think hard and being confused.
Mise en Scene -
Costume - All characters are wearing black however, so far as we can tell, the bad guys are wearing black suits, whereas Ethan is wearing a black T-shirt and trousers.
Props - Handcuffs, tape over hostages mouth, gun.
Editing -
- Uses 180 degree rule between Owen and Ethan
- Shots aren't short and fast paced, this is to let the audience see everything that's going on.
Sound -
- Non Diegetic Sound - At the begining there's a rumble to tell the audience the film has begun. The dialogue is Non Diegetic until the clip plays. The sound of a torture device, tazor?
- Diegetic Sound - Dialogue, gun.
180 degree rule.

How is all this working to create a thriler effect. Again, too much description.
