Research -Ocean's Thirteen- Kate

Research outside of lesson : Ocean's Thirteen rated PG. 
(Crime Thriller) 

CAMERA:
-LS Opening 
-Character drops from wire in front of camera at CU
-Tracking shot of character - Through empty dark shop -gives an idea of the character being followed.


MISE EN SCENE : 

-Lighting-
-dark lighting - Indicates at night / shouldn't be there 
-Costume-
-Dark clothing - to blend in with background
-Balaclavas - disguise 
-Gloves- finger prints 
-After Cut- characters clothing is smart - shows wealth 
-Props-
-The props that the main character uses are props that indicate burglary and heist. 

EDITING:

-Current location printed on scene-establishing 
- Continuous shot - conveys that this plan has been planned for a long time / are the best at braking in. Also adds fast movement flow.
-Cuts to black scene- same character different clothing - ELLIPSIS 

SOUND:

-No sound- used to indicate their job.
-Diegetic Phone ringing. - On screen 
-Same Sound as phone ringing- Non diegetic leading to opening titles.

  1. Kate - it is easiest if you take some key scenes and then analyse along all 4 strands. Remember the whole point of this is to identify how thriller effect is constructed.
