Research -Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street-Kate

Research Outside of lesson Rated Sweeney Todd : The demon barber of Fleet Street.18.
-This film has a slight cross over with Horror but is still classed as thriller as there is not act of paranormal. It is only classed as Horror also due to the use of blood and death.This film is also a musical , There is very little spoken dialogue.

CAMERA:
-Pan at MCU of a ship-establishing shot.
-S. D.O.F , Character signing in focus pull while other blurred , to draw attention to the main actor.
-OTS at CU with S.D.O.F to pull attention to the characters and what they are signing/ saying.
-Slow cuts to create flow and lasting impact
-fast cut to sweeney's face to show hatred and anger.

MISE EN SCENE:
 -Lighting-
-Low key lighting - to show reflect the song "No place like London" - By this it means that London back then was dirty , damp and unpleasant to live in.
-The lighting varies from characters faces , the lighting used on the young man is dark all over little lighting on his face, the lighting used for Sweeney is very bright on his face , showing the evilness in his eyes and face.
-Setting- the setting is period -19th century England London.
-Like lighting the setting reflects the song and description in the song of London.
-Costume- Costume is period , dark and dirty looking quality , shows that they have been travelling on the ship for a long time.
-Realistic costume.
-Sweeney's Hair is very dramatic dark black with a white streak across the front.
-Body Language-
-The body language of the young man shows his youth he facial expression is full of wonder of what is in store for him.
-the body language of Sweeney is reluctant and indicates he is on a mission to find someone or something .

EDITING:
-Continuous cut for 0:24/2:43 , along with slow cuts after all leaving a last impact.
-No use of parallel or crosscutting 
-little use of editing 

SOUND:
-Diagetic orchestral music to match with signing of the characters
- little dialogue used. 
-Foley - sound of bridge opening 
-crescendo of sound to impact on Sweeney's words.
